ViewFinder Pictures History
View Finder Pictures is run by Andrew Price and was established in 1990 by Andrew and his father, Peter, a well-known and highly respected North West photographer whose unique portfolio of work ranges from The Beatles to the Busby Babes!
Andrew started his career in 1990 as a freelance with the Chester Chronicle, just as colour was beginning to make its mark in newspaper production.
He freelanced at the same time for Wales on Sunday, providing coverage of the full spectrum of weekend sport. "Those were the days when we wired the pictures on a Muirhead machine down the line to Fleet Street and newspapers around the world! That same machine is now in a museum!" Andrew recalls.
His career progressed to freelance work for the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo, and subsequently a wide range of nationals and magazines which now form the core of Andrew's business, alongside PR and marketing agencies, and the world of industry and commerce.
Andrew has followed in the footsteps of his father whose 50-years experience in the newspaper industry began with an apprenticeship on the Daily Mail. After completing contracts with the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror, he freelanced for the Picture Post and Daily Sketch, and many of the UK's national and regional newspapers and magazines . |
